A friend of mine told me that a local Native American awareness charity accepted his car donation as a means to help fund their ongoing efforts in promoting native American cultural awareness on their local reservation. Apparently this non-profit organization accepts various donations “in kind” in addition to standard monetary donations. This particular organization has done a lot of outreach in the local non-native community to raise awareness of the local native American culture and the ongoing hardships that those living on the reservation currently endure. It’s truly a worthwhile cause that deserves all of our attention. Native Americans have undergone so much hardship over the last two centuries and the current generation is struggling to cope with echoes from the past and current economic realities that continue to oppress them.
