HomeAmericaNative American Rights for Soil, Wine and Oil

We don’t often hear about wine and oil at the same time do we?

Sometimes though, what is currently sitting under the ground can be just as important as what is grown on top of it.

As an example, some native American reservations do not allow ownership of large tracks of land because the federal government is worried that they might find too much oil, although some of those same areas are currently leased to wineries in order to allow them to grow grapes.  Even the wine a month club I spoke with, thought that the whole idea simply seemed strange at best.
